Accessibility
Accessibility statement for P31 Labs.
Conformance status
P31 Labs is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Method of assessment
Self-evaluation. Automated testing (axe-core) runs in CI, and manual keyboard-only passes are performed on each release. This is a self-assessment, not a third-party audit.
What is implemented
All ambient animation respects prefers-reduced-motion — the dome drifts, the copy never animates past 200ms, and reduced-motion renders a static frame.
Glass panels fall back to solid surfaces under prefers-reduced-transparency, so reduced-blur systems get readable backgrounds.
A spoon-level system scales motion and sensory load. At low spoon levels the interface slows; at the floor it goes still — a documented cognitive-safety accommodation.
The navigation and the control instrument are keyboard-operable; skip links jump straight to main content; focus-visible outlines are provided on interactive elements.
Interactive targets meet the 48px minimum (WCAG 2.5.8).
Text renders in tokens designed for contrast against the ambient background; the design system validates pairs with WCAG 2.2 AA checks.
Known limitations
- The molecular dome background may not render identically across all reduced-transparency implementations.
- The spoon-level system is a custom accommodation not covered by a WCAG success criterion — it is an enhancement, not a conformance mechanism.
- Some legacy archive pages in the public directory predate the current accessibility work and have not been fully audited.
The honest scope
P31 targets WCAG 2.2 AA and builds toward it, but this is a self-assessment — not a claim of third-party certification. If you encounter a barrier, please report it so we can fix it.
